How to create a QR code
Common questions
Can I generate a WiFi QR code?
Yes — switch to WiFi, enter your SSID, password, and encryption type. Scanning it on a smartphone connects the device to your network automatically, without the user typing the password.
Can I create a vCard QR code for my contact details?
Yes. Select the vCard type, fill in your name, phone, email, organisation, and website. Anyone who scans it will be prompted to save you as a contact — great for business cards and name badges.
Can I add a logo to the centre of my QR code?
Yes. Open the Customise panel, upload a PNG or JPG logo, and the tool will overlay it in the centre of the QR code. We recommend selecting H (High) error correction when using a logo so the code remains scannable despite the overlay.
Can I change the QR code colors?
Yes. Use the foreground and background colour pickers to match your brand. Ensure there is strong contrast between the two — light background with dark foreground scans most reliably. Avoid red on black or similar low-contrast combinations.
Can I download as SVG?
Yes. Click the SVG button after generating. SVG is a resolution-independent vector format, ideal for printing at any size — from business cards to billboards — without any loss of quality.
What is error correction level?
Error correction allows a QR code to remain scannable even if part of it is obscured or damaged. Level L recovers 7% of data, M 15%, Q 25%, and H 30%. Use H when placing a logo over the code, and M for most other use cases.
Do I need to sign up or pay?
No. Everything runs entirely in your browser via JavaScript. No account is needed, nothing is sent to any server, and the tool is completely free.
Can QR codes store Nepali (Unicode / Devanagari) text?
Yes. Devanagari and all Unicode scripts are fully supported. The QR library encodes text as UTF-8 bytes, which handles any language.
What size should I use for printing?
Set the slider to 600–900 px and then download as SVG for best results. For PNG, 600 px and above prints cleanly on business cards and A4 flyers. At very large formats (posters, banners), SVG is preferred since it is resolution-independent.
Is the QR code stored or tracked?
No. Generation is entirely client-side — nothing is logged, stored, or sent anywhere. Your data stays in your browser tab.
